Hi, where can I find one, some farmer wants one, bad signal on his farm. He confirm with mtn and vodacom, the frequency is 900 mhz out there on his farm.

a Router with a external 3g antenna jack, which do have wifi as well as a lan jack.

Then B593 on special R1500, it covers all 3G frequencies. Little bit problem with setting up external antenna, as it doesn't show Cell ID, no problem at all if there is single tower per operator.

Not sure, is it a question?
Setup is very simple. Just point antenna to the tower (assuming you have direct view), then adjust to get maximum signal. If you buy model B593-601 (from Telkom by example), it covers LTE frequencies for TM, MTN and Vodacom (but not Cell C) - in addition to 3G and 2G frequencies for all SA operators.
However when you say 900MHz it let me think, you are talking about voice services and 2G data. Maybe do more research, you might have 3G or even LTE in your area. :)
Get prepaid SIM for each operator, borrow modem or smartphone and test it.

Maybe 2G then, it is very remote.

This guy got a telkom dish, I think Vsat, but he said it is very expensive, data wise.

He is going to put up a 30 meter pole, antenna on top, with lmr400 going down to the router/ modem.

Beware of lightning!
LMR is good, but 30m+extra length will pay for a good WiFi router. I suggest to place 3G router in weather proof white painted plexiglass cage and transmit data over WiFi or cat5 UTP LAN cable (if lightning is no issue).
On other side if the guy has direct view to the tower, increasing hight is not helping at all, as beam can be stronger at the ground level. Antenna should be raised just above elevation (obstruction) and no more.

Unfortunately, the house is next to the hill, on the wrong side of the only tower in the area.

He plans to put a 3G yagi on top, with 3 earth kits on the feeder downwards.
