RouterOS and 100WR router

Will the 100wr work with RouterOS?

How will this work on the wireless of the router as I use the wireless for my laptop.

After taking a glance at what RouterOS is , it is a Linux based prgram that turns a computer into a router. That being the case all Linux installs I have done with the Mega100WR2 have picked up the connection from the router without issue. I do not imagine that this will be an issue with RouterOS.

If you are going to use RouterOS would you not want to have the hardware router in bridge mode? Or are you looking for two protection points if you will?

EDIT: Point being, if you want the laptop to connect to the router it will bypass RouterOS. Is that what you want to happen?

EDIT: Point being, if you want the laptop to connect to the router it will bypass RouterOS. Is that what you want to happen?

He could use the router as a wireless AP, use static IP's and set the gateway to the RouterOS IP, that should work.

You should be able to connect any wireless device to your your mikrotik device. Just make sure you set ROS up with the correct country settings and you should be sorted. And a minor route to hook up the laptop.

so by setting the gateway on the router to RouterOS, would the following be the effective folow of traffic:

laptop --> mega100 --> routeros --> mega100 --> internet

I presume that the setup would have to be like this in terms of the hardware:

PC (RouterOS) --> Mega100 --> Phone/ADSL Jack --> Internet
