ok, here is a question for all you technical ppl out there ...

I have a Telkom ADSL router and moved to a new place, where I am still waiting for my ADSL line. On my Main computer, I use a Cellphone, with a data contract. How do I configure the router (Mega 105WR) to reroute all the network data to the Cell phone (I have enabled bridging on the PC).

or is the easiest to spend R2000 on that 3G router that you get at Incredible Ripoff? I had one previously, but that was stolen.

You won't be able to route traffic through your cell phone... well, not without alot of hastle.

If you're paying R2k for a 3G router, you're getting ripped off. You can get a router that supports 3G and ADSL for less than that.

I assume you have multiple machines attached to your router? It will probably be easier to change the other devices to route through the machine with the cellphone than to make the ADSL router perform that task. Windows connection sharing can be "tricky" but a few forumites have posted some detailed steps to make it work.

Some links would be lovely. Last I checked all the +/- R2000 3G routers did not include the 3G device (linksys, billion, draytek). So to complete the deal you need to budget some more for the modem. The B970 has a built in 3G device and cash price from a vodashop is +/- R2800.

Edit: So some quick googling shows that the linksys has come down from it's R2000 price tag to about R1700 and the billions start at about R1300.

I recommend that you go for Billion 7402GXL it has the 3G rather than paying R2000 :(
