Hello there.

I'm new to these forums and this is my first post, so please bare with me until i get things sorted out.

I'd like it very much for someone to please help me with routesentry on how to set it up and get it going so i can use a local account for gaming. i'v read about it all over the place but cant find anywere on help to set it up and what actual accounts i need to get. if someone could please help with all the details i'd apprietiate it very much. this is what i'd like info on. I have routesentry and raspppoe already and i have a microcom adsl 4 port router

1) What accounts are best for local internet traffic (isp) and can i get it on pay as you go,, like axxess
2) How do i set up raspppoe
3) How do i set up routesentry
4) How do i log in so it uses the local traffic
5) How would i check to see whats going through each connection (to make sure its been directed through the right account)
6) Well pretty much everything on how to get it right to the point where i can play games online

??????

Thank you very much guys and i hope to hear from anybody soon thanks

i clicked on that and most of it i'v already been to. i dont know where to start if someone can just start with me from the begining, then i could catch on what to do.

ok i will try that one now. see how far i get.....another thing i was wondering. i have an account with telkom wich comes with free local bandwidth while the promotion is on then it will go to 10 gigs or something. will routesentry split between the local and international on the one account aswell, or will it still use my internationl first and then the local ?

No, it won't split the Telkom account, you will use International first, then local.

For every 1GB telkom account, you get 10 GB local, so a 1GB account has 10GB and a 3GB account has 30GB. You pay if you go over the limit ;)

ok i need to buy an account for local, can i buy it now through my internet banking and could i start this thing up in an hour

With Routesentry, each of the two connections gets its own IP address. This confuses some servers because the IP used to play and the IP used to authenticate with the server in the US isn't the same.

Someone mentioned that the Axxess local prepaid is well suited for gaming since it allows some intl traffic through to the authentication servers.

The router needs to be in bridge-mode else it does not work. Then install Raspppoe and Routesentry strictly as per instructions on the respective page. Set number of WAN endpoints to 2 in the network connection properties (forgot where exactly it is). Should work after that.

i just wanted to say i put my post up like 30 mins ago, and i got response straight away like a flash....u guys are awsome...never have i seen someone willing to help as fast as you guys. when i own a company one day u can come work for me and get top doller man....lol

anyway i see on axxess that the local account says its pre-paid. but when i want to start setting it up it says it will bill me every month.. i want to pay through EFT and only pay again when i need to, i dont want a contract thing.. or am i reading something wrong

There is an option for prepaid once-off via EFT. You need to enter some details online though to create an account. Name email etc.

Axxess international you can pick up from PnP or Engen just like a cell recharge...if the person behind the counter knows what your talking about.

lol...i know about the pre-paid international from engen and pnp. they really dont know they have that service, i had to show them on there own system and engen people still dont know what i'm talking about...lol

Axxess local pre-paid is pretty good! got freinds with Steam/Gamepsy & all the rest working well on Axxess local only :) still would reccomend some int for updates and the such :D

Otherwise, hope to see you online soon! :D

well i'v been playing online games for awhile but i play command and conquer generals zero hour, been playing the best in the world for about almost 2 years now, but i want to try out some local gaming on first person shooters. cause international is a bit laggy for those games. anyone who is playing zero hour can give me a buzz, we play some games.

oh and i did'nt have enough credit for me to buy a local account on my EFT, will let u guys know when i'm ready to set it up.

Can somebody also tell me how much bandwidth these local first person shooters use, i play quite alot, so i'm thinking i'm gonna need alot of megs huh ?

Bru, they all different.

some games use like, 40-50mb a hour.
others use 20-30mb a hour

It all depends on the game.
