Edit : The BOINC stats just updated and it is no longer showing the old triple core, but the stats are very much still triple core stats. By tomorrow this time we will see how well this 6 core beast did on it's first day of World Community Grid. I doubt it will dethrone that dual core / quad thread Athlon 200GE I had. Remarkable to see how IPC went up. A dual core beating a hexa....

"Gupta" PC build in progress.... Xeon and more RAM inbound.

Did your board screw right in?
Which Xeon?
I cut the "base plate" shape out of the server case and then fitted that into the case I am using, as the E-ATX pattern was off and did not fit. I also had to mod the rear plate to get the GPU to fit.
I am very pleased with the result though.

Might also run it off a cheap SSD.

Yes for sure, I was using an old dual core before I built this one and I'm pretty sure the SSD made most of the difference. The form and architecture of your board is very different ( and better) than the one I got gifted.

Luckily it had a 90 degree PCI header card and recognised the GPU straight away.
