Royal Navy kills Somali pirates

The Royal Navy has repelled a pirate attack on a Danish cargo ship off the coast of Yemen, shooting dead two men believed to be Somali pirates.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) confirmed the incident took place on Tuesday, when HMS Cumberland crew members tried to board a traditional wooden dhow.

The Yemeni-flagged vessel was identified as having been involved in an earlier attack on the Danish ship

These ****ers should've been shot to pieces a long time ago...I can't believe they've been allowed to simply hijack cargo vessels without any action being taken by the Americans, considering that they've got a military presence in Djibouti.
 
They should blow a leak in the boats then the headline could read less harsh - royal navy watch suspected pirate boat sink.

It costs money to do what you say (fuel, ammunition, medical care for wounded pirates and service personnel, facilities to detain pirates and impound their vessels) and its a wee bit dangerous, pirates can shoot back. So why bother?

On second thought there's probably no direct incentive for the US Navy to intervene but there are rumours that some of the ransom money is being funneled to the likes of Al Qaeda and if that can be prove then the US definitely has to step in.

Rumours are one thing. The US navy has access to CIA (and other) intel.
They don't need no rumours :). Rumours are for us, people not in the know.

Daniel Craig claims he does his own stunts IIRC. Send him to Somalia with a camcorder( and other strategically placed cameras). Now that I'd pay to see :cool:

If you do not operate like Captain Jack Sparrow, you are not worthy of being called a pirate.

He flys a DC3 in the latest one I think, just saw a glimpse in the trailer.
Guess that doesn't count as a stunt. :)
