Hi guys
Im busy doing the X-clamp replacement fix with the washers etc.
Iv cleaned the heatsinks *lapped the GPU one to a mirror finish aswell * cleaned the dies to a mirror finish aswell. However i cant find any damn 5mm nylon washers anywhere!! I went to house and home and even a midas but nothing.

Any one know of a place in randburg that sells 5mm Nylon washers?

You are never gonna find nylon washers. Just use the flat 5mm steel one in its place.

What about the same washers that you put between the riser and the motherboard when you build a PC?

im just going to use steel washers, they seem not to touch any component/trace on the mobo. Just need to get my 5mm machined screws and im ready to roll. My gpu heatsink was rough like a nail fail though but now its smooth like a mirror

Busy reading up more and more on RROD still not sure about leaving out the nylon washers though

don't leave out nylon man, u gonna get a short, try any other material 'cept steel, like any non conductive material - prehaps even a fiber washer. it'll short with steel :9

Yes you will find them. There are specialist screw and bolt places that make a living selling selling any bolt/screw/washer you can think of to industry. Builders Warehouse etc is not the place.

I know of a place in Springfield, DBN, but that does not help the OP though.

bump. Im also looking, Ive tried a few Midas' Builders warehouses, ect. Any specialist places in Johannesburg?
