With an MS reference no, they will replace the unit. Why should you not be able to swop it out anywhere?

I presume the store still has to pay for the logistics of getting the unit to and from MI Digital. Also, stock is always tight, so they wouldn't want to replace their own stock when the it originally came from a different retailer.

The reference number is actually used by MI digital to get replacements from MS, Ms has nothing to do with swopouts only the retailers and MI digital are involved with that ! the reference only shows that the console is under guarantee from MS getting a reference number is important for MI since they will furnish it to MS with the broken 360 for a replacement !

I got my Xbox a year and 10 month s ago from INcredible Pavillion in Kwazulu-Natal. Do I take it they will not swop my console even though there is an extended warranty?

they will have to swop it once you have followed correct procedure (ie contacting MS or MI Digital, getting ref numbers, etc etc.). 3 Years from date of purchase
