I love how ISP's sharading as hosting companies throw around the word "engineer'

bvonfintel: Your issue there is "Windows", however, supplying your own CD's and working directly with Hetzner (if you know what you're doing on the server) is better than going through a broken-telephone with Afrihost. 1 call to swop the CD, and it's done within 5 min, not 3 days.

+1 on the recommendation of splitting the DNS, a lesson I learned back in 2003 as well with my first hosting setup, even though you have 2 IP's, if your machine goes down, so does ALL of your DNS

OK, some more nastiness from RSAWeb. I've been trying to get them to give me a copy of the disk image that the VM uses. They simply don't reply or respond to my requests. This is quite upsetting because it is my data after all and yet they simply don't care.

After four attempts to get my info out of them, I eventually gave up and moved to plan B.

Here is how I got an image of my system's disk...

1: I installed Remastersys: http://www.remastersys.com/
2: As root, I ran this command: remastersys backup
3: Next, I used Filezilla to SFTP in to the VM and download the ISO image of the system.
4: Then I deleted the VM from their control panel
5: Lastly, I'm closing my RSAWeb account.

Bye bye RSAWeb, get bent!
