Why not? What about a car makes it inherently suitable for runflats / unsuitable. One does not simply fit runflat tyres... It's not something you retrofit; a car either uses runflats or it doesn't.

Rims and suspension rates, mostly.
Should still work though. Not going to be a smooth ride, but it'll achieve OPs intended goal I think.Rims and suspension rates, mostly.

Not sure they even make 14" ones.
Personally I'd rather go for pepper stray and an AA subscription. It'll work out cheaper & help for car problems other than tyres too.
This and you need to buy a kidney belt. The ride gets harder.
No man it's not that bad.
I love the run-flats on the Beemer. And it's awesome for potholes too (although I still try to avoid those).
I guess the BMW was designed for run-flats. It even tells you if the pressure in the run-flats are low.
Well, no. You'll make the car inherently less safe by throwing its balance out of whack completely. Added to that you'll need to fit a tyre pressure monitoring system because, stability concerns aside, you'll be unaware of a puncture otherwise until your stupidly retrofitted runflat fails completely because you kept on driving at a hundred and plenty km/h. Cars using runflats are designed around them from the ground up.
Rather just ensure that she always has a serviceable spare tyre. Tell her it's OK to destroy the tyre & rim - by driving SLOWLY to a safe area - if it so happens that she gets a flat in a shady part of town.
Yeah, it has tyre pressure monitors. But so does the Audi (well, as an optional extra) and many other cars.

Like genetic said, the Beemers are designed with run-flats in mind. Put normal rims and tires on there and feel the difference in the driving experience over rough roads and especially around corners ... kinda like driving a Merc
