Running a line from the Exchange

Hey Guys

I am really hoping that someone out there has managed to solve this with little effort. The unit I live in never had telephone lines run from the Exchange. Each house has a number of cable boxes with pvc conduit running through the house and I expect this conduit runs all the way to the street (to be confirmed).

The guardhouse has a Telkom line so there is definately an exchange nearby.
What I am looking for is someone to come and install a line for me; I would do it my self but have little experience with fish wire and tracking down the conduit which I expect is running underneath the pavement.

Once I have this cable pulled I can follow the necessary steps to get hooked up with ADSL.

So request a line installation from telkom :erm:, if you tap into the phone line in the guards house you will probably just recieve all their traffic, unless there is a second line they will let you use

I so wish I can run a line from the DFA optical network about 100m from my place.....

Area and is your house free standing not connected to any other unit .
If the house is new you can look on the plans to see if there is sleeve to the guard house (look at the guard house to see if it is fed with aerial cable if not then it must have an underground feed )
