Hi There!

Has anyone successfully been able to access an IP Camera remotely, where the IP Camera is connected to a cellphone network? I'm in need of a remote solution, but to my understanding and frustration, I can't run any video feeds over any of our cell providers' networks, due to incoming connection restrictions. The problem can be solved by changing the APN, but who's got money for that bill?

I've thought of maybe running a VPN link between the remote network and the server room at the office, and then feeding the video feed into a local DVR system for monitoring. Would this work, or am I trying to re-invent the egg?

Any advice welcome!

What I Have:
1x Wireless IP Camera - None purchased, suggestions welcome!
Power Source for Equipment
1x 3G/LTE router
1x tinfoil and duct tape
0.5x solution
1x Server room with fibre internet - can't move, sorry.

I am using the Provision ISR IP Cameras, 2 of them. I access them via the native PnV App, they connect via WiFi to my LTE Router, no issues in streaming.

You need to request being activated on the Open APN.

Sometimes referred to VPN as well.

I think in the case of fixed like LTE solutions it works by default. It’s just if using a mobile sim setup that it’s a problem.

Afrihost APN is open,Vodacom you need to apply but no extra cost involved
RAIN LTE also open
Afaik Telkom also open
