Frankfort cuts down load-shedding — despite having to switch off solar panels
Parts of Frankfort in the Free State have been able to avoid most load-shedding in the past few months thanks to residents and businesses contributing their self-funded excess battery and diesel power capacity to its grid.
The town's Mafube Municipality has been using Rural Free State — a division of Rural Maintenace — as its private electricity distributor and maintainer for several years.
