Russians ruining Dota 2

So I have played dota for 8 years,and last night I uninstalled the game and will be going back to hon for awhile. Russians are absolutely horrible to play with, and it seems giving them their own server hasn't changed much, all I play with is Russians each and every single day, there is really no teamplay in dota or some sort of balancing between teams, which I found so much better in hon, there is so much more teamplay in hon and majority of the time the games are decent, even if you lose its not like the whole team failed, you don't get out played in dota, it's a matter of everyman for himself, I had such a good experience with hon and the SA community on it, I would probably play dota again if I could have that community, but for now I am done with the non teamplay and lets all take carries and not buy wards etc, there was non of this in hon. Hon players>dota players.

what you describe isn't just on russian servers, best is to try and find a team to play with and play with them only

I think we are all dealing with it.
But thats why I use the South african chat channel and join groups.
Much better pooning russians than playing with them.

You should relax a little though, all the europeans are complaining every single day.
Its only a matter of time before valve see's a huge decline of players on dota cause of the russians.

agree, it's like that everywhere this is what ruined dota for me aswell.
 
I think the problem with the entire genre is that its just so easy to spoil. Just one dude has to be a noob or just one guy has to be pro and the entire game is sucky.

The only time I have ever really enjoyed those types of games is when I play with my friends and we know each other well enough to balance the game. Also we take it less seriously and just enjoy it.


So much anger and hate when playing with others, it slowly destroys your soul.

Yup, what makes LoL and HoN nicer is that you're not playing with *******s all the time like with dota where everyone thinks they're better than you or have the sun shine out their ass. actually makes a game fun to play with people who also just want to have fun
 
Here is what confuses me with dota players, not many wanted to make a move to hon because of the graphics and just because it didn't have the name "Dota", yes they copied dota, but hon made alot of good improvements on the game which in reality for me did alot of good to the game, and I feel Dota is trying their hardest not to copy what hon has done, but hon took things out and put in things that annoyed us, for example I love how it was not necessary anymore to purchase a courier anymore, the fact that you just had one in the start of game created alot less rage,because there was always someone moaning about someone not buying kfc, I never liked the psr system in the beginning, but after playing dota I appreciate it,the level system is the most stupid thing they could come up with and hope that they can come up with something alot better.

The South African HoN servers is the worst in the world, I would rather play with the russians than be exposed to all the rude schoolboy's playing HoN. The local community got so bad that the last while of HoN before i got dota 2 was only played on International servers. The hon community in sa is one of the rudest/elitist in the world, I play with russians allot in Eve Online and although they are in general *******s I much rather prefer them than any south african HoN player
 
Vladamir, Sergei and Vitaly are going to make you pay for your insults to Mother Russia :p

The same reason why i stay on LOL and Dota...First day i purchased Hon, played 4 games with non stop ragers.
Then the next day same story, then the following day cause I didnt win alot of games I get kicked.

Crappy community.
 
I would say more of a serious community which is why I like it, in hon I was really noob because of the way I played dota, but I learnt so much after awhile and you eventually start to understand the reason behind all the rage, I mean why not use those type of things to motivate you and improve yourself and to prove others wrong, it's like real life, yes it is just a game, but I do it because I enjoy it.
 
FYI; Just because people use Cyrilic doesn't mean they are from Russia.

I've been playing Dota 2 for a few weeks now and have found the community in general pretty relaxed compared to when I was playing HoN on local servers. On quite a few occasions I've come across very helpful people and that is extremely refreshing from the old Dota days.

I liked playing support characters and in HoN you would normally get kicked from game lobbies because you had a low K/D ratio.

Dota 2 has a system which allows you to commend players or report players for their actions. So instead of showing 'e-peen' ratings, the system shows commendations (friendly/forgiving/leadership/helpful) you've received.

And this commend system proves what exactly? It means nothing to me, just because someone is friendly and still crap doesnt change anything.
 
Give it a break - try something differant - WoT isn't ragefest

No, lol. LoL is for the kiddies. Hon is the more pro game. Dota is boring.

Do you even play HoN? the SA community (PSR) is incredibly narcissistic and elitist which is why I prefer playing (MMR) EU games. Also, they smurf like mother****ers. So no SA game is balanced. I have over 3000 games played on HoN so I have a fairly good idea of whats up there.

While we all hate Russians, try only having Europe West selected as a server. This does help. Secondly play with your friends.

Regarding the HoN vs Dota2 debate. I've played a bit of HoN. Just looks too cartoon for me. I think starting with a courier kind of defeats the purpose of the game. You're supposed to have a support on your team anyway. They get the courier. It's not the games fault you have a crappy team.

Remember that Dota2 is balanced for high level play. If you want to be more casual rather play HoN.

And how often does it happen that a support actually plays its roll, If I am support I ensure to keep wards up, babysit the carry etc.but no, how often does it happen they decide to get a kfc 15 min in the game when it pretty much defeats the object, and tbh the one thing that probably makes me rage the most is the auto attacking of creeps.

Yes there are alot of smurfs, I would smurf also and agree it is unfair, that's why as host you are able to filter them out by looking at their stats, I mean say a 1550 with a K:d of 3:1, pretty obvious its a smurf and will eventually just join on his main and get over the owning of low psr.
