Was planning on getting a RTX 3070... Managed to get one at R18000 new. Deal fell through, someone else bought it first.

I initially wanted a 3060 Ti, only went 3070 cause this one was pretty decently priced. Now I am not sure what to do.

Do I wait, I don't see GPU prices getting better any time soon. It's kind of annoying.

Benchmarks put the 3060 ti and 6700 xt pretty equal.

But can it raytrace? Does it matter? idfk anymore.

just get 3060 seems to few for 12k on carb today for new, i am using one fine 1440p rtx gaming.

6700xt really overpriced for what you getm 3060ti will never be in stock as 60mh card for 15k lol

It can but the 3000 series Nvidia cards will outperform it in this aspect by quite a lot. Whether that matters to you depends on which games you play, most games don't have RT support.

The Nvidia cards also have DLSS which is probably a more useful feature than ray tracing imo.

The Radeon cards are really good this generation but I still think Nvidia has the upper hand with their more mature RT support and DLSS.

While my purchase of a 3070 for 13K a little while ago was a generally stupid waste of money I don't have, boy did it turn out to be an excellent decision in terms of actually acquiring a graphics card. The exact same card is 20K now, wtf.

OP - After experiencing DLSS / RT, and seeing the benchmarks for the AMD cards, I'd honestly wait. The 3070 easily chokes on RT games, and it's a fast card. Until, of course, you use DLSS, then it's generally back to melted butter.
