Greetings all.
a couple of days ago, i used my cell phone to make a call to a friend. I use MTN and my friend use Vodacom.
His phone rang and a black woman picked up the call and started talking to me.
My first impression was that his phone was stolen. I cancelled the call and called again just to confirm.
This time my fried answered. He started by asking who was that black woman that answered my phone.
I asked the same, who is the black woman that answered your phone.
We could not hear each other, but both of us could hear this black woman, and my friend spoke to her as well.
So this was clear that somebody is listening to our calls.
so we tied to figure out what happend here.
i know for a fact that S.A has a office of interception, which is responsible for intercepting calls from all ISP's.
i also know some of the intercepting equipment is not connected at ISP's
I also know that telkom is listening and recording all phone calls.
Question.
does anybody have more information on the office of interception, especially how they intercept phone calls.
I would like to know what happened here, and if my cell phone are being tapped.
If you willing to discuss this in private i will appreciate it. email me.

- It could not have been a mixed channel on the cell provider. reason.. there are 2 cell companies involved here and telkom is in the middle.
