S5 vs Z2

Hi, i have a upgrade due in a few months. I do have a Iphone 4S now, but looking into the S5 or Z2 what will be the better one, i have look at specks however not ever owning a android don't know what to get.

Its a bit of a no brainer the Z2 and you should consider the HTC M8.

Way to simple a reply.

Each phone has some advantages.
If you think fast camera and ADH are of no need then possibly the Z2.
If you think more ram is better than the best screen currently on a phone then also, Z2.
If you think built in speakers are important, M8.

What is important to you is likely completely irrelevant to others, and vica verca..
 
also liking the z2.
a mate here just got a lg flex... now thats a pretty phone.. with curves too!
 
I think it comes down to personal choice. I believe that the S5 is the best considering the after sales support and ADH.

I've been over the specs of them all time and time again, so I think this explains it in terms of what's best for what:

Build Quality: HTC One > Z2 > S5 (HTC is 90% aluminium, Z2 has an aluminium frame, S5 is plastic)
Camera: Z2 > S5 > HTC One (the HTC may be better at low light. While the HTC is only 4 megapixels, the pics it takes are stunning. I for one would prefer higher megapixels though).
Chipset / CPU / RAM: S5 and Z2 > HTC One (S5 has the higher clockspeed, Z2 has 1 Gig more RAM, HTC has the same clockspeed of the Z2 but only 2 Gigs of RAM, like the S5). I honestly believe the differences here are almost negligable.
Availability: S5 > Z2 > HTC One
After Sales Service: S5 > Z2 (I'm assuming here) > HTC One

Each phone has unique features. Like the S5 and the fingerprint reader / heartrate monitor, the Z2 and the dedicated camera button and the HTC One with awesome speakers and having the choice to buy the overpriced dot matrix cover.

I for one, will be getting an HTC One. It's just a beautiful phone. And that's what I want - a beautiful phone.
 
Camera I think you have the wrong way around mr_norris

Simply because of the speed at which the S5 can take photos.
 
If your Samsung phone breaks down should you take it back to where you bought it or to Samsung?

Such a small difference.

I still think the Z2 is pure eye candy but the s5 is also pretty and has some advantages that are very hard to ignore

We already have a plethora of review sites on these handsets. Just an opinion. Seems that you have been brainwashed by the Samsung marketing machine. The bloatware that is touchwiz destroys the android experience.

Best screen you are wrong, yes camera performance is important (even if the consumer can't recognize camera quality just the quicker clicking will do it) M8 is another beast altogether. Speakers a unique feature pleanty of other features .

16MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera
Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 @ 2.5GHz processor
2GB of RAM
5.1″ Screen – super AMOLED with 1920×1080 resolution (432ppi)

Sony Xperia Z2
20.7MP and 4K video rear camera and a 2.2MP front camera
Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 @ 2.3GHz processor
3GB of RAM
5.2″ Screen – Triluminous display with 1920×1080 resolution (424ppi)

Z2, simply because the S5 will be too common given the price you're paying for it...

Err, you are wrong. It is the best screen, as mentioned by DisplayMate - DisplayMate: Samsung Galaxy S5 has the "best performing smartphone display that we ever tested"

Has anyone bought through orange? I see they have in stock, and their price is a lot less than that being advertised by vodacom

Friend bought his Z2 through orange, took about 5 days to get here.
 
@AstroTurf then it looks like your mind is made up the S5 it is for you then. I'm sure you would not want buyers remorse.
