S8 Stolen... Next step

Hi Guys

S8 got stolen yesterday at my office in Kuilsrivier. I stay in Somerset West.

Steps already taken:

Changed Google Passwords, Changed Banking Passwords, De-Linked Dropbox.
Did a sim-swap this morning.

What should my next step be?

Location and GPS services is on but they obviously killed the sim-card thus data connection immediately.

Maps history and Device manager still shows last location where it was stolen. Nothing further.

Should I go and blacklist the phone and then report at police station or should I wait a week or two in hope that it shows up on a map somewhere?

If it does show up, what do I do then? Surely I do not rock up there with a handgun right?

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers

I would blacklist and report it to the police. You never know what can happen. High chance of that phone going across the border any way but hey. at least if it does turn up some where you have proof that it was stolen.

I would report it immediately. Insurance will need it if you need to claim.

Report it to cops, blacklist it and forget about it. It's never going to show up on the map again, stolen phones are moved out of country or flashed so that they can't be tracked.

Rather safe than sorry. I would do the same. And it will only erase if you activated Android Device Manager under Phone Administrations.
Newer phones are probably automatically enabled. Mine was though guess a S8 will be the same.

Best to check. I learned it the hard way. It might be that google ask your permission when you first activate the account on the phone, I usually deny everything and only do what I need later on.

That's how I felt as well although I immediately activated the remote wipe. Can't be too safe with cyber criminals though.

Thanks for the help and quick responses guys!

Stay safe!

This is highly useful if you can't get hold of your wife or kids. Just log in with their Google info and you can track them.

As long as location is turned on. I normally turn this off to save on battery.

I also turn mine off. Just because it randomly goes on during the day and it freaks me out. Probably just Google service or traffic looking for info,or maybe just Google checking up on me.

By all accounts its the CIA watching every move you make. Yes folks, the CIA watches every private person in the world. They even track you when your phone is turned off, the battery removed and there is no cell coverage.

How much do you pay per roll for the heave duty foil?

They might be tracking me, but definitely not via my phone in that instance. Might as well say they track me by using the sandwich I'm eating...

Next week tech "specials" will include bulk pack of foil from Makro.

Some people do unfortunately. I feel sorry for them.

Did you buy that sandwich at McD's? They have tracker implants that lodge in your brain. Using satellite technology a CIA agent can see what you see and hear what you hear. I feel sorry for the one who monitors Butternut Head's tracker.
