SA at boiling point

and you know what else pisses me off? i'm embarrassed that the AWB and Suidlanders are going to go apesh*t when Mandela dies and start spreading rumours that Uhuru is happening, which WILL further racial tensions even more. luckily all the decent africans aren't as mindless as many racists think they are.

there is nothing a stupid racist wants more than an opportunity to shoot people of the other race

RIP Julias Malema ;)

Once that happens we're all in it. Unfortunately no matter which side you favour this isn't going to be fun and we'll be forced to side with people of our own colour.

That being said, I'm glad this happened. It's about time, the fuse has ben unlit for a while. Now that the fuse is burning we can once and for all fight for a truly free South Africa.

What a f**king idiot.

it takes a stronger man to keep the peace - violence is the resort of the weak

True , it takes a stronger man to keep the peace - violence is the resort of the weak and feable minded. All the fear in the hearts of the minority and the majority are justified.

However to give this a more positive tone - to solve a lot of the issues we have in this country - "build it and they will come", will stop a load of the extremists or at least make their rabble rousing more of a squeaky wheel.

We need three things;
  1. Proper Underground High speed maglev trains
  2. cheap or really free unlimited internet for the masses
  3. Equality of respect for others

The cost of the maglev trains is initially high but imagine living in Mossel bay and being able to working in Cape Town or PE? You could be in the city within 35mins.

IF you were from the Eastern Cape and wanted to work in Cape Town, the journey would take the same amount of time as it does from Stellenbosch to the city does today.

It would employ 500 000 workers per city per year during construction and up to 350 000 per city for 24/7/365 days a year with three shifts, full camera security and full taxi/bus integration.

The internet at every school, chemist, home and corner cafe!!

The GDP would increase and unemployment would drop to between 2% - 5%

More work = fewer idle hands.

All this talk about war and fighting is rubbish. The current tensions does make you think though. My worry is less about bloodshed than it is about that typical African government problem - corruption and stealing. It happens in politics/governments all over the world. But for some reason African governments don't understand the principle that you can steal the golden eggs, but when you become too greedy and grab the goose that lays it you're going to be farked eventually. That goose being the economy. Stealing encompasses both corruption and the non-maintenance of infrastructure.

Eventually a barren economic landscape will follow these megalomaniac greedy pilferers - wealth/power will be in the hands of a few, and "the people" will be no better off than anytime during the last few decades. Economic output will drop severely - and the powers that be will be forced to act more and more outrageous to satisfy their greed and self-righteousness.

Maybe the smart ones in the ANC can help us avoid it, but maybe not. There are plenty of vested interest involved, and plenty of self-serving attitudes.

OK, maybe a bit pessimistic, but it's not a unrealistic scenario.

Nice o dream, but it costs money, something this country are very short off after the mass waste and corruption for 10+ years!

Why, oh why, oh why, oh why does every bloody man and his dog feel the need to start their own thread on this topic?!?!

It's very likely that the sinking feeling you are getting is not as a result of things that have happened but rather the stupid, inciting, sensationalist crap spewed out by some forum members!

You can take the negative view that Eugene's death will result in civil war. Or for a change you could try the positive view which says that his death may just be the catalyst that gets the ANC to wake up, muzzle Malema and his cronies before they do more damage, and put an end to these farm killings.

Of course some people just find it easier to accept the negative path!

Step one.....

so true mate.

Thanks goodness I was not even in the country when all this went down.

It's seems like everyone is upset with everyone else and people are being accused and taken to the Equality Court all over the show!! Here is more:

The African National Congress in the Western Cape on Wednesday said it planned to approach the Equality Court and the Human Rights Commission after obtaining a derogatory letter, allegedly written by a senior Democratic Alliance Official.

The party said racist language was used when referring to coloureds and blacks in the email, which was reportedly sent to Local Government MEC Anton Bredel.

The ANC in the Western Cape’s convener, Membathisi Mdladlana, said if the email sent by Stellenbosch Municipal Manager Petros Du Plessis to Bredel was authentic then both men should step down.

The letter presented to journalists by Mdladlana has Du Plessis referring to coloured people as ‘Hottentots’. The ’k’ word is used to refer to black people.

The email was allegedly sent to Bredel on 8 March.

Mdladlana said he had already taken the matter to Luthuli House.

He also challenged Premier Helen Zille to take action.

It is a very unpleasant time indeed.
