SA Dota 2 servers launched by MWEB

I have lots of keys as well, pm if u need.

But i am glad that they are hosting some local stuff, the ping difference will make a huge difference.
 
It says latency 10-40ms & packetloss 0%, but game is jerking and sometimes unresponsive for 5-20 seconds at a time! I'll stay on the EU server with 200ms response until this is fixed.
 
Jip was unplayable when testing it now....300ms ping with a gaming uncapped account.
 
Okay so, I realized playing on the EU servers are not that bad. The one game I had on the ZA servers was pretty crap...not worth waiting 30mins for. It's really sad that the ZA community has their heads so far up their own a$ses

Also had issues with the SA server. Already have it deselected.

Sticking to Europe west for now.

Local Dota community manages to make the CoD one look tame.
 
the nerds need some place to feel big and strong and like they can actually inflict some damage, cos lets face it 99% of the ragers would never act that way to your face.
 
The local server is useless... Matching making is wacked, and I get more lag than EU...
 
I found the experience to be pretty decent, i wasnt expecting amazing results but it was pretty good. Good ping, a bit of laggy jitter every now and then. But otherwise not too bad. Thank you mweb.
 
Finally started playing Dota 2 yesterday, but to my dismay, the lag is epic! Not sure if there are settings that need to be changed, but as is stands now it's not playable at all :(

Any useful tips to counter lag?

Using 50GB Afrihost capped account on 10mb line, on Dota 1 my ping is avg 25 with no lag, on Dota 2 on the SA server it's avg 100 at the moment.

There might just be some issues with the servers sometimes, I use a normal 3G connection, with Cell C and I get around a 40ms ping, when we share the Cell C connection, then we get around 60ms ping and then we are 2 guys using one connection.
 
I've been playing Dota 2 recently, mostly on SA servers. The biggest problem are the russians LOL. Otherwise I've had minimal lag problems.
