SA drivers need a "Blue Light Protocol" to stay safe

Justice Project South Africa (JPSA) has reiterated the need for a formalised "Blue Light Protocol" to be implemented.

This follows conflicting statements by SAPS officials in recent months regarding whether South African road users should follow the protocol.
 
Yes Mr vish naidoo, tax paying citizens must stop undermining the law, only south african criminals have the right. Who are we to try to protect ourselves. We must just lat down and be slaughtered by criminals. Honestly this guy is a joke, I wonder if the saps top brass actually feels that they are doing a good job in this country. If I were in a top position I would hang my head in shame considering the crime stats of sa.

You are now personally responsible for every single bogus cop event in this country in my opinion now, and if that ends up with a victim being killed, you need to shoulder some of the legal blame for that.
 
I would rather be caught for speeding and reckless driving then getting beaten by 2+ officers/criminals and possibly killed or raped. I have little to no faith when it comes to blue lights considering the police operate more like a gang than law enforcement.

Maybe if your head of state didn't undermine the entire justice system by ruining the NPA and making the SAPS look like a bunch of clowns, then we wouldn't need to "undermine" the state.

However, in December 2019, the national spokesperson for SAPS, Vish Naidoo, said that the Blue Light Protocol does not exist .
“If police tell you to stop, you must stop,” said Naidoo. “People must stop undermining the authority of the State”.

The law can't compel someone to commit an action that may cause harm or be unsafe. And this here echoes the sentiment of the SA police force. Even if you do it lawfully they may not like having their "time wasted" and look for a reason to fine or arrest you.
 
So I got passed by an ambulance with a blue light escort this morning.

Didn't take long to realise its probably our old friend JZ catching his lift to SONA.
For people to take the blue light brigade seriously you have to not abuse it.

Seriously though it's more than likely they were also responding to something rather than escorting the ambulance. I've never heard of something like that happening.

ofcoz they feel they're doing a great job. Exceptional in fact! Their ridiculously high salaries are evidence of the great work being put in....
