SA drops in global IT competitiveness index

Wonder where we will be in 2/3 years time when other African countries have had more time to develop their internet infrastructure to make use of SEACOM. For me at least, it seems that they have more will to make use of it "now" than playing political and profiteering games.

Please take note in your brand new shiny cars, Minister, how we are slowly sliding down the slope.

I bet you guavamunt wishes that they'd drop the standard like they are in our education system, then 35.3% would be a pass and they'd be happy.
Useless bunch of gittes!
We're falling further and further behind due to delays in LLU, lack of infrastructure, lack of a decent regulatory body, guavamunt being a provider, regulator and player in the market, etc.
When will the madness stop?! *GRRR*

“Technology can drive the economic recovery and generate long term economic growth. Broadband availability is becoming increasingly essential to IT sector competitiveness, as more IT offerings are delivered over the Internet. BSA expects that the recent construction of the Seacom cable and the premise of increased and cheaper broadband could influence the SA rank positively in the next few years,” said Alastair de Wet, the chairperson of the Business Software Alliance South Africa Committee.

Too funny! :D
