SA gets Google Maps Live Traffic

Awesome! Seems to work like Waze since they say keep using Maps on your devices :)! Anybody who's tried Waze here on a busy road knows its benefits ;)

Waze does not help in Cities like mine. Hell according to waze there is almost no city here :)

As for PE traffic jams, lemme know if anyone sees any, so I can go check it out, been soooo long since I been in a traffic jam that I forgot what they look like.

*sigh*

The lost pleasure of residing in the Platteland.

It like 2 cups of coffee. For a great service.
But each to their own

And if it was 0.5 a cup of coffee I would still refuse to pay. Point is that this is free and with time will be better than TomTom because it uses much more accurate and up to date information based on any mobile device using google maps. BOOM

Would need to use data link to upload this tho ;)

Consumption is so tiny though dude. I tested data consumption by turning on navigation when In Hilton (just outside PMB) and left it running until I got back to JHB. Chewed a little under 10MB for a long trip like that.

Sure we will chew a bit more with the traffic updates and stuff but cannot imagine it would be much more. I leave Waze on while driving and it hardly does anything to my monthly quota.

Hey I don't have a problem,i'll be leaving my tab and phone on navigation on the road,my data bundle barely gets used anyway ;)

Was just making a point to oc saying GPS should just stay on hehe

I'm in Hilton reading this. Hilton is teeny-tiny. ROFL!

This will kick ass and chew bubble-gum once it comes online for Durban, as I'm often down there for work. Even more so for the entire N3 from Joburg to Durban.

For Cape Town also give @CapeTownFreeway a follow on Twitter. Even get snapshots of traffic.
