SA GW Players

I moved to WoW. The game got seriously boring. PvP has changed into cookie cutter builds. Still log in now and then to see how the skills are broken.

I just started GW, looks kinda cool..

Glad to see there are still a few SA GW Peeps.

I thought everyone moved to WoW...

I'm in guild that have few South African members.

It has kind of died for me. Once I got to level 6 of the maxed titles, I started helping people in my guild/alliance a lot, but started getting bored. Never been much of a pvp person. I REALLY can't wait for GW2. PM me here at MyBB if anyone needs help... otherwise, online... seldom on though. ign: Enola B Twenty Nine.

I also kind of outgrew it. But for me it will always be the best mmo, simply because it was my first mmo I ever played. I wish I had access to the gamefiles to still log on occasionally... But what me stop playing was I had done everything, and the idea of just grinding titles etc. just didnt appeal to me.

I got bored of wow since cataclysm broke it, now i'm playing a bit of Starcraft 2 and Guild Wars

Also send me a whisper in-game or a pm here if u want some help or to do some quests/missions... IGN: Godo Razormane
Recently returned... trying to fill up my hall of monuments... I've been playing on and off for 5 years and only have 16 HoM points :( i suck at this game... hahaha

Well, what does one need to get into Guild Wars, i.e. which versions, after 3 failed attempts at buying the collectors edition (still got a credit at Kalahari.net) ...

Don't have a credit card, so cannot buy at some places ...

Currently downloading the "Free" try it software, hopefully my cap will survive that, as there is no indication how large it is ...

Also any places where I can buy locally online, that actually have in stock ... , as a few I have e-mailed don't have ...

I'll be bugger'ed if I understand why people put something up, that they don't have stock of, and have no idea when they will get a restock of the item ...

You will only need one of the three available campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall) to start playing. The Eye of the North expansion is usable/accessible from any of the three campaigns.

The download-able client will only download what is necessary for each area, so you can save some cap, but be prepared for long loading times when moving to new areas. There is a command line option to pre-fetch the entire game content, that will probably use up around 3-4GB. My gw.dat file is around 4GB or so but the content is compressed for download so actual cap use may be less.

When I started a year and a half ago, I looked all over for the collectors edition, I eventually just bought the license keys directly from NCSoft. A month or so later, everyone got stock again, go figure...

There is a bloke on Kalahari.net selling a secondhand copy of Nightfall, Is that worth buying? What did a key cost you from NCSoft?

While you might be able to install some of the content from a 2nd hand copy of the campaign, any keys will be unusable as they are already tied to another account. I personally would not buy a second hand copy.

Buying from NCSoft will likely be more expensive than if you can get your hands on a retail copy. At the time when I bought it cost me 55 euro for the Trilogy pack and the EOTN expansion. While the retail collectors edition was cheaper, I was tired of mucking around looking for it.

Will keep on looking then for a "clean" copy otherwise I will have to ask a favour of friend who has a credit card ... , Thanks
