Probably a stock design, but that's not really important - it's the thin edge of the wedge, and if it succeeds, they can source and manufacture more and more components locally - that's how these things work, they don't ramp up from nothing to creating microchips overnight. Look at the car industry - started a few decades ago with the component assembly, and nowdays and entire industry has evolved - we make engines, brake pads, pumps .. tons of stuff here.
I for one wish these guys the best, being able to compete in the global smartphone market would be great for the economy.

Good luck to these guys , there is a serious market for dual sim phones hope local gov. Could offer tax breaks to tech companies to reduce the cost , allowing them to be more competitive with imports . hopefully they also get a deal with a major retailer like pep, PNP, game similar to what adsa has in the UK in store branded cells and tablets.

The phone is brand new, only released now but there is going to be lots of support.
I bought an UMI X2 from China a month ago and there are more than 20 custom roms for it. Every week a new rom is made. There is support on Russian forums as well as Chinese forums with thousands of views and information.
In a month or two the support and custom roms will come flooding in. On this website there are also lots of custom roms for Chinese phones - www.needrom.com http://www.needrom.com/phone-roms/other-categories/inew/
MIUI rom is also going to be ported to it soon as well as other phones as most of them use the same hardware.
These new phones have good build quality, almost every phone/tablet is made in China these days.

Reminds me of when you confront a car salesman about a new model/face-lift that is imminent or probably already launched in Europe. "Huh, no we are not aware of a new model/face-lift due in the next 12 months at least"
Not dissimilar from "car service consultants" that tell you that something is not a problem, this model's air suspension does "lower itself" at night. Ask him to put it in writing on a letterhead and suddenly the problem does get addressed...

Or import a Chinese-phone yourself. The THL Phone I bought when my contract phone got stolen still works and has proper battery life.
You can't.
Don't waste your time with these phones, they are very low end, ram being 512mb, you can't even run decent android games on it.
Save you money and rather buy a premium phone.
