SA needs R68 billion to avoid blackouts: report

R68 Billion, sure.... Oh wait, left it in my other pants.

Give me a 1% tax break and I will provide my own electricity.

Here's an idea :

Why don't the govt sell off Eskom, SAA, GPO and the SABC to the highest bidder?

Then there'll be money in the kitty...

...oh wait... who'll want to purchase old k*k anyway?

rather than wasting that money on a new coal plant that will only be operational in 10 to 20 years .... why not start getting more homes setup with solar panels to reduce the load on the grid??
The solar geyser subsidy was a step in the right direction, but if they help homes to setup solar systems for power, then that excess power can be pushed into the grid

R68b is needed for municipal infrastructure maintenance. It is separate from what Eskom needs...

Still doesn't make my point any less valid. Eskom is always begging for money so they can upgrade/maintain their network. Now the Municipalities also want the same. We are already paying an inflated rate as opposed to buying directly from Eskom. On the farm we buy directly from Eskom and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying through the municipality I'm currently living in. Can't remember the difference off by heart but it's quiet a saving.

Mismanagement of funds. Stop supporting those breakfast shows.. Privatise Eskom problem solved if you don't like that plan Privatise parastatal companies that aren't making money flySaa.

A billion here, a billion there, soon we are talking real money.

Seems that they think that because there is x amount in the kitty, they can all have that amount.

NO, you MORONS, there is only 1 of me and I like the hair in my ears, stop shaving the sheep.
