The problem isn't with nuclear procurement - that needs to happen. Reliance on coal isn't the answer. The problem is with this current government doing the procurement.

100%...nuclear done correctly is the best option. It doesn't have to replace the entire baseload...just complement the large quantities of renewable energy we could generate in this very blessed country.

“The Minister’s admission came in response to a question I posed in committee relating to the Request for Proposal (RFP) that was scheduled to be issued on 1 April,” said DA Shadow Minister of Energy, Gordon Mackay.

“Minister Joemat-Pettersson informed the committee that that 1 April deadline was not met and that no new date for the issuing of the RFP has been set, signalling that the procurement process is now in limbo.”

The DA is jumping the gun on this one, the GuZumptas have just hit a few speed bumps and potholes along the way, when they get past that the new RFP deadline will be so secret that the DA won't even know the alleged ice has melted away.
