SA passion for SWC exceeds

A local PR guy is saying that the world is electrified by seeing some SA fans in the streets? This is a joke article right?

Have they actually spoken to any foreigners abroad - not the few soccer fanatics (fans) who spent a fortune to come here?

Come on.... that article is pure BS. It's just full of weasel words and hype.

My dad chatted to our relatives in Scotland. They're been seeing the footage of the Sandton displays, and all that stuff, and they're been amazed and impressed. They can't believe the enthusiasm and support.

True, it's a pretty awesome feeling to be a South African right now.

So wasn't London excited when they got the Olympics? Did you see the parties they threw in Rio when they found out they're getting the next WC there? Obviously people will celebrate - how is that an achievement?

Peter, why don't you join in the celebration? There's no point in ***ing in your cot, the WC is here - it's not going abroad, embrace it while you can, it's not going anywhere. Being a sour p*** isn't going to change a thing.

@PeterCH you have always been a sour puss. This once again proves you have some hidden agenda you, marine1 & the likes are what is wrong with South Africa.

You spew your negative attitudes & when we call you out you say we get personal. We are basking in the admiration of billions all over the world yet you sit behind you LCD screen moaning and groaning. So you don't feel it. Sit in your lounge surrounded by like minded people & bitch. We in the REAL world will keep on basking in the SWC light & at the end of a successful tournament we will do the diski dance while you will still be pointing out the little failures that are bound to happen

South Africa is not perfect & the likes of YOU are what's not perfect about our rainbow nation.

P.s if bwana feels I need a rap over the knuckles for this so be it. I am sick of these twats abusing the freedom of speech that our new regime has given them. To spew all this negative shyte.

Not everyone is a soccer fan. I started hating rugby at around 9. They deliberately tackled me hard. I then hit. So I'm wrong... I took up tennis. Well, until I discovered surfing at 11. Since then....welll...who are you people again?

Ha ha. Grinch.

Nuff said.

Rooster, stop being so inconspicuous.

If I was going to risk an insult I'd comment on the size of that mind. But I shall refrain.

Dude, you do seem against us. If this is the perception we've got en masse it's one you've created. Take some responsibility for your constant grinch attitude.

(If I wanted to be awfully unfair I would suggets that whenever Peter posts we simply respond with "grinch" and a rolling eyes icon. But I won't suggest it, however people can feel free to emply their own discretion. What right have I got to stop them ? But let it be noted, I'm not suggesting it. ;) )

You try. Then out do yourself in the rebound. I've seen tikkoppies doing better. Look in that mirror. Do you like what you see...Sh*t...Start again...I hear you say that you love yourself...do you feel empathy towards most....or at least....towards some...MMMMmmmm thought so.

At the end of the day its about 2 different personal opinions...some people love the WC, others not.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your perspective, there is one objective reason or point that PeterCH has to defend his opinion, and this aspect cannot be refuted.

Tax money is used to fund the WC, taxes are compulsory levies enforced at gunpoint essentially, and are thus theft. (Think of how a mugger operates, give me your money, or else!)

You cannot use the unproven claim "its for your own benefit" to justify stealing from someone.

It doesn't really matter whether you want the WC, doesn't justify taking from others, why can't I tax you because I want something else, say a Ferrari?

PS: Always loved the soccer world cup!

Don't whinge about it. Start a political party with the aim of eliminating taxes, and get yourself voted in. It's not theft; it's the result of democratic processes.

PS: How will you pay for things without tax?

Democracy? Majority rule or consent doesn't change the fact it is theft. Hitler was initially elected by a majority...

Call a spade a spade please.

As far how "things" , I.E. public goods will be paid for without taxes, we'll get private entrepreneurs...afterall the free market is far more efficient than some government. The complex market functions cannot be better performed by the state. (Read this article "I, Pencil" By Leonard E. Read for a better understanding, google it)

If you don't like it, change it.

LOL. How good are private entrepreneurs at providing such services, especially with the profit motive? Maybe you should go and ask AIG and Goldman Sachs how they'd run the country's financial systems...

I suspect you've been reading too much Ayn Rand and not enough economics.
