SA Politics Thread Part 10 : The GNU Has Crashed

The response a city should give when there's a massive power outage. All hands on deck, on Easter Sunday nogal

I don't know why people think ambitious white people would pass an opportunity like this. If I were a politician and had the charisma and oratory skills, I'd beg for it.
Ambitious white people would not choose to be publicly humiliated like Zelenskyy while trying to defend indefensible policies and a corrupt & racist government.

The only logical person to go would be someone who tells Trump that the ANC are a bunch of clowns who are on the verge of being voted out. I’d love to see Cyril pick that person.

I totally don't get the outrage, he was at Shembe previously, Bushiri might be controversial but the fact is that he hasn't been found guilty of anything.
The bastard ran after getting bail so in most South Africans' eyes, he is guilty even though not convicted in a court.

Beg to serve under Zuma?

The list of people who served "under" him is very long.

The man is truly something else, even has his enemies begging to bed him. 🤣

ANC has far bigger issues
No they don't...

The ANC is still the ruling party essentially as they pick who is in government with them.

That nonsense that the DA has surpassed the ANC will never happen. The most powerful and capable DA can't outperform the ANC even at it's weakest.

Actually MK is a threat, but to SA , not the DA.
The problem is the ANC is self destructing in epic proportions and a lot of that support is heading to MK

My predictions are for the next elections :
ASA will wither
ANC will lose huge numbers
MK will be stronger
EFF will be about the same
DA is hard to call, but I think it will be stronger
What utter nonsense.

You sound like a poll, an IRR poll. 🤣

True, but it's still hilarious that he thinks the MK is a threat to the DA vote. If that's what's being said at his local Gauteng ANC branch meeting then no wonder the ANC are not amounting any sort of comeback against MK.
Why would you want to comeback against your offspring when you can simply be one again someday?

The DA delusions are still raging on I see. The common enemy as it's clear for all to see is the DA hence why they even have the IRR giving silly polls that the DA has surpassed the ANC because the actual fight has always been between the weak DA and the ANC that ruled SA for over 30 years and still commands over twice as large a voter base as the DA does.

And I think what's being said at branches in Gauteng is not to work with the DA and "kill Chris Hani again" hence the kicking and screaming from the DA while the man they keep trying to take down but keep failing tells them to "try harder!". 🙂

The only problem is that Zille has successfully managed to burn bridges to other opposition parties, besides the new Freedom Front, I don't see any party wanting to go into any coalition with the DA.

The recent budget vote where the MK and EFF were their only allies should tell you everything, the Moonshot is dead.
The DA are truly horrible to work with. 🚮

Poison, collapse in Limpopo and now guns are blazing.

Either our Deputy President is really really a threat to the GNU as we know it, the DA in it and the establishment or this is all campaigning for 2027 via Trump's strategy.

Time will tell and we'll be there. 🍿

DA's VAT case to be heard tommorow and the 1st of May is around the corner.

After tommorow and the 1st of May, we'll know where the GNU with the DA in it stands. This also pending the postponed ANC NEC meeting meant to decide the DA's fate in the GNU.

I can feel it in my blood that the end of having to listen to a white man who is only matric level educated in government is coming to an end soon. 🙂

And before the loonies cry about false racism, they must show us where and when they didn't bash Zuma and other black leaders for subpar education day in day out while they were in government.

And besides, those black leaders weren't in school because they were fighting the evil apartheid regime, what is John's, Dean's and Co.'s excuse because the only thing they were fighting during apartheid was their siblings for the remote wanting to watch Garfield.

Asked ChatGPT how long the GNU with the DA in it formed in South Africa after the 2024 elections is most likely to last in reality and this was the answer:

The Government of National Unity (GNU) formed after South Africa’s May 29, 2024 elections, which brought the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) into a power‑sharing arrangement, is characterized by stark ideological divides and recurring fiscal disputes, rendering it inherently fragile and unlikely to endure the full five‑year term. Historical precedent shows South Africa’s first post‑apartheid GNU collapsed after roughly three years when the National Party withdrew, and current tensions—over budget votes, Value‑Added Tax (VAT) hikes, and judicial challenges—mirror those earlier fault lines. Market reactions to political disagreements have already signalled waning investor confidence, and prominent analysts warn that the coalition may unravel within the next 12 to 18 months, most critically around the mid‑2025 budget cycle.

At some point even the Freedom Front wanted nothing to do with them, even going as far as voting with the ANC to remove their mayors in a couple of municipalities, they must be glad a Mulder is back in charge.
