SA Politics Thread Part 10 : The GNU Has Crashed

This is the kind of thinking that leads to a Zimbabwe 2.0.

It's never the ANC's fault.

And R1 trillion has gone to 100 black people, but these blacks don't even question that. If that R1 trillion and other money had been used to uplift that majority of blacks in SA then maybe there wouldn't be this gap between black and white.

But the ANC don't care about the average black South African, just holding onto power and the money, so nothing will change for the average black in the coming decades under the ANC.

Keep in mind that is a post done by MalkomZ. He has take to reposting his own twitters

So the Sunday Times says at least 6 senior DA officials want MacPherson to be censored over his silly and badly-worded remarks about the Expropriation Act. However this is unlikely to happen as John and MacPherson are strong allies, having both cut their teeth in KZN politics.
LOL. They're still on that?

Btw could you tell us about this joke of an article, Brit?

5% growth? Where are we gonna get that?

Actually not a joke of an article - apparently Ramakgopa said the main concern of the GNU must be transformation or redress (forget which one) and unfortunately the DA did not challenge that. Peter Bruce's suggestion was actually the primary focus must be on economic growth, so jobs can be created (the article sub-line is awkwardly worded and does not accurately portray the article).

Sure, but why I said it's a joke is because of the 5% growth.

With the ANC's refusal to be pragmatic and pursue tangible economic reforms, how the hell do they want to achieve 5% economic growth?

Not a chance. That is wishful thinking.

Controversial Limpopo speaker's R4m luxury car disappeared under police watch; now it's up for sale. The new luxury car disappeared from the legislature's basement parking for five days before resurfacing at a local dealership.

(Paywalled article)

“These awards reek of pre-arranged deals, insider networks and foreign capture of South Africa’s energy infrastructure, all in the name of just energy transition.

"The MK Party has written formally to the Minister of Electricity and Energy, demanding full disclosure of the bid adjudication records within seven days. Should the minister fail to comply, the MK Party will immediately approach the courts to interdict and suspend these contracts.”

@TheChamp there you go.
What's the problem with this? I see racist morons on Twitter all frothing. If MK want to fight something let them fight the arrogant minister who says appointing politically connect care kids is a coincidence

Transformation fund was not a GNU decision. It was a dictatorship done by the ANC
Like BELA, EWC, NHI etc? 🤔

If that's the case, it begs the question of what is the DA still doing in a government that is a 'dictatorship'?

Yet another 'brown envelope' squabble between the connected cANCer cadres is about to scupper 2 crucial NPA cases... how usual...

The state’s corruption case against former defence minister and ANC struggle hero who freed you ungrateful lot from apartheid, Cde Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula hangs in the balance after the useless NPA took a decision to press ahead with a separate fraud and corruption case against its star witness, “businesswoman” & Black Excellence poster woman Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu.

The misunderstanding presumably stems from the fact the cunning Nombasa reportedly received rigged tender contracts in excess of R200-million from the department of defence — & greased the mathematically illiterate Cde Nosiviwe with lousy crumbs to a tune of R2.3million—or a 1.2% cut instead of, say, 10% mandatory ANC tender kickback.

If we replace Jan Oberholzer with Anoj Singh and Mulilo with ANN7 (assuming ANN7 was into renewable energy and not media), you'd not be asking that silly question, you'd instead be shouting from the top of the hills, 'corruption! corruption! state capture! state capture!'

As I said to @TheChamp, let's let this court process play out since it's not clear how very wrong it is for someone who played a role in the death of Eskom to get lucrative contracts at a company that takes the market share left behind by Eskom's death.

Jan was involved in state capture? Is that a separate commission run by Zuma and MKP?

Well, Zuma's shenanigans only came out after he was toppled at the Zondo Commission.

We'll hear of all this and more after Ramaphosa. 🙂
