I agree, but the ANC would never do that. And we all know if DA suggested it ANC would've collapsed talks then and there.

Too risky. Go back to volunteers who have jobs/companies already so don't need the money and just want to help their community out of love and respect. It only takes an hour or 2 per week and is free to us tax payers.

The only reason the DA would suggest it is because they are not in power, as soon as they are in power they will tell all their worshippers how useful deputy ministers are and you will lap it up.

They can be removed tomorrow and they will be accommodated into the offices of the Ministers as advisors.

Talking about advisors, the Office of the Ministers of Agriculture has a vacancy for Chief of Staff, just in case Mr Whitfield is interested.

Hope Groenewald realise he needs to add some value, because his party the Freedom Front has totally defined themselves outside of the GNU.

As things are now Groenewald is supposed to follow Whitfield.

It unfortunately doesn't take an hour or 2 per week these days.

Being a councillor is currently a fulltime + type of job thanks to how the ANC have completely fscked everything up.
But it could be a part time role, with a monthly/biweekly council meeting held in the evenings, and of course if it was part time with a limited Stipend then those meetings wouldn't go on for 20+ hours like that can currently.

Seriously though, I don't think many of us understand the magnitude of work involved in any government position if one really wants to work. It will be never ending.

I just volunteer to be in board of directors at our townhouse and it is not easy for anyone to volunteer for government deputy as you multiply complexity by million times for deputy/advisor. I wouldn't take up the position for even 2Mil.
 
I cant help wondering if this is Cyrils Exit stategy ?.....
