Possibility? Anything is possible, the DA could run out of money, John could leave and join the ANC. I don't see any reason why they would run out of money, the IFP has never ran out of money, the Freedom Front has never ran out of money, the UDM hasn't ran out of money.
ActionSA is in government now in case you guys haven't noticed,, that's one of the best ways to make sure you never run out of money.

How do you figure that? Apart from drawing a salary, how does being in government ensure that your party is funded?

Being in government gives confidence to funders, that's why most parties in government are funded, even the small ones.
The IEC also funds parties, the more represented you are in parliament, the better, at 6 seats ActionSA are guaranteed a decent sum from the IEC at election time.
Lastly, the party can seek donations from it's office bearers as other parties do to supplement their income.
