It's not and the DA did exceptionally well to hold up its vote given low turnout so I'd say nothing has changed in that ward.
 
Is the deal of the IFP and the DA not contesting in each other's strongholds still on? Because the DA could have won that ward if the IFP contested.

Maybe I am being just hopeful but I think Malema is done for. His support will continue to waver around current figures and won't increase. People don't really want to associate with his rabid style. It worked in the beginning but it is difficult to manage momentum.

It's going to be the usual coalition mess, which will be greatly amplified by the MK being the biggest parties in some munis but because they are so incompetent they can't convince anyone to help them govern.

I thought they were going to be bright and use the invitation by the ANC to negotiate for KZN currently and for the upcoming local elections, but you know how they roll, they are waiting for uBaba to make up his mind.

Rumour mill would be wrong, they can't take KZN next year... they can take the munis in KZN though.

And of course that will just be a complete shyteshow of epic proportions.

If they take any municipalities, the fight for positions and appointments will probably kill that party even before uBaba kicks it...

The excitement of the first election, it happens for everyone, they will do very well to hold on to that, I don't see that happening, they will probably be the biggest party again and fail to reach an agreement to govern, rendering the metro a mess.

They managed to get 45% and then blew it by not making sure they governed. Would have been given them decent access to the trough.

I think a fair chunk will change, what little is currently done in muni's will evaporate while the new "rulers" fight for positions and dominance and I think political killings will skyrocket once again.
