There are plenty of buildings in Tshwane that could be used as a parliament building, no need to build new, after all a tent in Cape Town suffices. How much are all the assets in Cape Town and Bloem worth?

Well Parliament in CPT was priceless until incompetence let it get burnt down, now its technically worthless.
 
All this lording around in blue light convoys, posh houses and sumptuous parly buildings is not feeding the people! Lead from the front all you fat cat MPS and others! A bit of belt tightening around those ample girths would go a long way. If we eejit tax payers can pay more and have to have less so should the public servants at all levels, provincial and municipal too. We could save billions if they all got Polos instead of 23 X5s each.

According to who? The ANC? Obviously it will be "too far" for the ANC:
  • The DA wants reductions in government spending, which will cut any opportunity for the ANC to loot.
  • They also wants to put emphasis on economic growth and job creation in order to grow the economy and create jobs.
    • The simplest way to show what the ANC has done to the economy is to show how far the rand has fallen against the dollar. R3.63 - USD to R19.73 - USD.
    • What has the ANC done in the last three decades for job growth and unemployment? You can't count BEE, AA, and their tender BS. Unemployment has gone up from 19.8% in 1995 to 31.9% in 2024.
  • Increased Role in Economic Policymaking - Obviously the ANC won't want the DA to have more say. It'll take their 'my-way-or-the-highway structure' away.
  • No VAT increase - This speaks for itself. If you can't make sense of why an increase is a bad idea, go back to school.

I'm not going to expand on every point in their list of demands we know of, but this is to point out that the ANC doesn't want anyone making changes if it's not them or when it interferes with their endgame.

While we are at it we should make them keep office hours and only have public holidays off like the rest of us. Also need to do away with all the pomp (honorable (not likely) member and all that claptrap! (It is colonial anyway)) and BS and run as a business.

Ag bra, but haven't you been paying attention to Social media since this budget process fell to pieces, even our political analyst identified it today... Capital is unhappy because their investments in compliant politicians aren't providing the suitable ROI atm, especially with those politicians getting too big for their boots.

How about taking the 200 billion from the money leached, stolen and defrauded from the Jozi fiscus over the last 35 years.
