What exactly seems to be the problem around that? Does the company not meet BEE requirements?
He was the COO of Eskom from 2018 to 2023, a very very dark period for Eskom and South Africa.

Now he's a Chairman at Mulilo, the same company that gets an IPP tender worth over R9 billion?

This would be genius if it wasn't so obvious. This is state capture. People are already asking questions...

For a start, the company did not get an IPP tender worth over R9bn. It is one of the two companies, the other one is Scatec.

But as far as state capture, what is it that makes it state capture, the presence of Oberholzer? Is he the first ex Eskom person to get a tender from government? Is there something untoward with the awarding of the tender?

Hmm load shedding started in 2009. Why only was 2018 - 2013 a dark period ?

Might have started in 09 but it was worst when De Ruyter and Oberholzer were in charge between 2018 and 2023.

That is the worst loadshedding period in South Africa's history.

If you don't see anything wrong with the COO of Eskom during it's worst loadshedding period then leaving and being a Chairman at the company that then goes on to get IPP business worth billions, let's leave it for now.

Because I know 110% if it was Gupta associates under Zuma doing the exact thing, it would be a storm in South Africa. And I'm not pro Zuma, I just love the double standards when it comes to Ramaphosa's administration.

Thank goodness people are zooming in on this obvious state capture that is dressed up because it's Ramaphosa with the twang who's also a business man as president and not Zuma who didn't finish school. Away with the double standards away!

This will end up in parliament. Also can't wait for tommorow's papers. 🍿

So what exactly is your assertion, any person who worked at Eskom during the loadshedding period, (or is the period of Oberholzer and De Ruyter?) should be barred from getting a tender from government?

Or just be barred from IPP tenders?

Ignore everything before like Cyril's war room etc in 2015 etc. He couldn't even fix it.. but hey it's whiteys fault.

The worst period of load shedding in South Africa was in 2023 when the country experienced unprecedented power cuts with 19,794 GWh of power cuts and 40 days of Stage 6 load shedding, more than the combined impact from 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

During this period, André de Ruyter was the CEO of Eskom until February 22, 2023, when he left abruptly amid the worsening crisis. Jan Oberholzer was the COO until his retirement in April 2023.

This is not about white or black, I know white people here have an irresistible urge to defend anything white and slam anything black. De Ruyter and Oberholzer put the final nail in Eskom's coffin so they could go eat billions if not trillions with their friends in business via IPPs.

Like I said, you'd don't see the conflict of interest here. Let this go to parliament, maybe it'll be more clear how wrong this is.

If Zuma had put Koko at Eskom in 2018 and Eskom went through the most during his tenure causing record breaking blackouts for citizens and then Koko left in 2023 to go to get a very lucrative tender at a company he is chair of, this chat would be different.

Like I said, the double standards are loud and clear.
