I am just a average english white boy who only became economically active after 1994 who is completely disgusted at what has been done to this country.

Maybe a very small %. I think way more just didn't vote. Choice is pretty limited in ZA. Most politicians are kants so I reckon vast majority of South Africans don't really vote "for" a party....you just choose who you think is the least kant-ish. When one's choice is reduced to where there is very little way to distinguish between those levels, then why bother ?
And let's face it, Maimane is right up there on said levels

2014: DA (national votes): 4 091 584, FF: 165 715
2019: DA: 3 622 531, FF: 414 864

DA reduction in votes: 469 053
FF increase in votes: 249 149 (53.1 % of 'lost' DA votes but of course assuming all the increase came solely from ex-DA voters)

Mkhwanazi needs to be rebuked and taken to task for his statements on the press.
