Why do they help the township people and coloured areas but not DA ones?
The poor are the most vulnerable, so they will always be prioritized over the larneys, I mean people here don't even drink tap water, the fact that the larneys just happen to vote for the DA is just a wonderful coincidence.

I thought water is life and part of the constitution. What makes the larneys less vulnerable? I drink tap water.

Um, what? I live in a larney suburb and drink tap water.

DA councillors just cannot resist Gayton's charms.

Hmmm...I finally found out the ward numbers these councillors represent

Ward 17 (2021): 39.9 - DA, GOOD: 31.8
Ward 17 (2024 - provincial ballot): 47.5 (DA), 37.5 (PA).

In a by-election environment probably a PA gain but in the municipal election, I can see the DA holding on.

Ward 27 (2021): GOOD - 34.3, DA - 30.1
Ward 27 by-election 2023: DA - 36, GOOD - 26, PBI - 19, PA -18
Ward 27 (2024 - provincial ballot): DA - 51.8.,PA - 33.6

DA will have an easier time holding Ward 27, but it will be tight.

I wonder what Gayton and co. promised them...

I had to lol:
The decision that I made is to be with our people. You can see my people in the back.
And I said no, my journey is to represent the Khoi people.

They are probably voting for the DA already, those are not township people, the townships of Joburg has water, the coloured areas that were having problems have been sorted out.

No poephol. They havent. As the Hursthill reservois that feeds them, also feeds where i stay. Where are you getting your lies from? You seem to like assumptions and lies dont you? So ironic that you call out lies yet right here you blatantly lie.

I see one of the councillors was a member of the mayoral committee.

According to the George 2025/2026 budget, George is a Grade 6 municipality (which surprised me as I thought probably only the large metros got that designation). So he got a total remuneration package of R1.17m. A councillor's salary is a bit below half of that, so even if he does win, he will take quite a pay cut (highly unlikely that the PA will turf the DA out of George even if they lose the two seats as the FF+ and ACDP will ally with the DA).
