Two by-elections today. The first one is in Limpopo, which will be an easy hold for the ANC as their nearest competitor obtained less than half their vote. The second one promises to be more difficult for the ANC to hold as MK were only about 10 percentage points away from them on the 2024 provincial ballot (2021 municipal results in brackets).

Fast forward to now the MK has disintegrated, Mary Phadi is forming her own party, Mkhwebane fears for her life after some fellow member promised to deal with her.

I would be surprised if the MK is able to replicate the 2024 form.
