SA Politics Thread Part 12

You talk a lot of nonsense sometimes.
You do realise that the DA spent billions upgrading the sewerage infrastructure of a large coloured area in Cape Town?

The townships vote in the DA every year, so they must be doing something right.

Plenty of black people flock to Cape Town every year so the DA must be doing something right.

I put it to you that the people in the townships run by the DA are better off than those who are in townships run by the ANC.

How's the water flowing from the taps in areas run by the ANC? Yeah didn't think so.
Do you realise Joburg has way more economic migrants than Cape Town or have you been drinking too much of the DA cool aid?

TheChamp still has this theory that ASA lost support because they were too tied to the DA which is the completely wrong view - it's because they now spend their time criticising the DA at every opportunity despite most of their supporters being ex-DA. uGogo is wiping out all the ActionSA support in the northern suburbs of JHB!
You people are too lazy to think, why is the DA support still at the same level despite ActionSA losing 10% in Joburg between 2021 and 2024?

Surely the support you have gained from ActionSA should reflect in the numbers?

And the anc? When is panty going to take the fall for their loss of support?

The DA lost quite a few votes to the PA but was made up by cutting the FF vote share in half and ex-Action SA voters returning.

Joburg is just ahead in terms of migration, but not a head by a whole lot.
The Western Cape and Gauteng account for 70% of migration.

Joburg has a better chance of someone making some money than Cape Town so it is no surprise that more people go to Joburg, but it should surprise you that, the number of migrants to Joburg is not the multitude that you make it out to be.

So the fact that so many do come down to the the Western Cape is telling in and of itself.

We don’t talk about ANC support levels here. In fact, the chief ANC propagandist is careful not to make any predictions of the ANC winning anything in the 2026 LGE.

What a demoralizing job that one has!

Let me repeat, ActionSA lost 10% of their vote, how do you attribute that to ex DA supporters going back to the DA yet the DA isn't growing?
Because obviously not all the 10% went to the DA - some probably went to Rise Mzansi and BOSA as well. When I say the "ASA vote is going to the DA", I don't mean 100% of it, I'm suggesting the majority of it, especially in northern suburbs JHB. This isn't hard, Champy. ASA decline in townships probably went to the ANC and EFF.

I know, but it's still funny as fsck to watch.

Actually by a whole lot.

He clearly knows the DA will get first place in JHB - it hurts to say that so instead just states that the DA won't get an outright majority (very likely true).

Yes, the goalpost has now shifted to why the DA can't get an outright majority in JHB. Being the biggest party will no longer suffice for this chap.

I wonder when the chief ANC propagandist will start telling us about the ANC mayoral candidate and why they are the best person for the job?

A great analysis that has flown under the radar. It is possible for the DA to win outright in JHB, but not easy. Here is the recipe to success:

1. Max out suburban turnout to historical highs
2. Increase township vote share
3. Opponents drop to historically low levels

All imminently achievable given the latest developments. There is still 12 months to go however and a huge number of things can change.

You are confusing a few thing wrt residential status vs immigration status.
Historically Gauteng was the golden city people making their way from up north to south africa. That has been tarnished for a long time now
Also Gauteng is multiple times in size compared to WC , so to do an apples to apples comparison you need to convert the figures to show x per 100000 people.

Then looking at the stats
1758863985357.png

WC/KZN/Mpumalanga/Limpopo are all growing in distribution %
EC/Free State/NW/Gauteng to a lesser degree are all decreasing in distribution %
This lends challenges your narrative that there is more migration to Gauteng. in fact Gauteng got slightly smaller since 2011

Secondly looking at your other statement , I disagree completely you have a better chance of making money in Gauteng

Average sallary is higher in WC

and unemployement % is far lower in WC
