It’s a bit embarrassing how long it has taken me to work it out, but I finally have champy champ @TheChamp figured out.

He will blindly support anything pro ANC. He likes making snarky remarks about others who don’t support criminals, and he likes creating the impression that he is much smarter than he is. But if you ask him any meaningful or difficult question regarding his beloved Liberation Movement, he completely ignores it, and posts a bunch of new, irrelevant ANC propaganda to try ensure the entire thread moves on to the next scandal and no one notices him ignoring real questions.

Typical propagandist.

R30K in 1985 ? FFS, I was earning this much not too long ago.
Black business people in those days were not that rich, the difference is that they understood the value of money because they worked hard for it, I don't recall any child of a businessman driving around in expensive cars and acting big, standing at the till in your father's shop after school was the greatest flex.

My local guy had a Mercedes Benz E class, a Nissan Sani and a truck, that's it, no supercar convoy to Durban July and all that nonsense. So they made money, sent the children to school, put some away in a bank and reinvest some the way Mashaba's guy, it all adds up after a while.

Motsepe's were always rich but no one knew of them until Patrice Motsepe, and even with him it's not like he flaunts money, it's just with the internet, everyone knows everyone's business.

Some were rich, some weren't Just like other non-black people. Go figure.

I had the pleasure of getting to know the owner of Vlermuis Busdiens operating from Lebowa as a kid. He did not invest in bling, rather expanding his business. You could not drive in certain areas without seeing his busses. I heard Putco bought him out later.

There were others.

Then you had the type that did get a fancy expensive car, took another wife because he needed somebody to wash and take care of his car. He was a joke that crossed borders.

So yeah ...

Could be coincidental or maybe there is a purge going on in the DA. The DA ministers have always been the media darlings, the sudden bad press is very suspicious.

I must admit, I'm reading that situation slightly different than News24 are trying to put it across.

Solly has still fscked up in my opinion, but it seems more that he is trying to follow process to the letter and not give someone an opportunity to challenge an outcome in court.
