SA Politics Thread Part 12

A part of me feels bad for people like Songezo Zibi. His self-worth and self-confidence must be at an all time low since it would appear on the facts that black people are utterly incapable of running any serious public institutions without plundering them dry with no consequences. However, it doesn't justify him going after Zille with zero evidence and justification. If there are so many capable and qualified black people who should be stepping into the place of the useless Zille, where are they? Why doesn't this loud mouth give it a go, or is it beneath him?

How many imaginary buffalo can you purchase with 2 billion?

AFAF with a couch
I don't think people understand just what a fsk-ton of money to just have been stolen that 2 billion is . (OK it is rhondts...but still)
I think even the main thief in charge would struggle to stuff that into a couch so how the fsk is it not traceable and recoverable?

yip. It is difficult to know how big billion is.

1 million seconds is 11.5 days, 1 billion seconds is 31.7 years

Imagine being a black person and voting for a party filled with people who think like this, some people have no self respect.

Imagine being a black person and instructed that you have to vote for parties that are black even though they will rob you and your family blind and kick you in the balls afterwards. And being told you can't vote for the most diverse party that will fundamentally improve your life because it has white people in it. Luckily the majority of black people aren't as stupid as black parties assume they are!

Members of the Greatest Liberation Movement (sic) stole R2 billion from Thembisa Hospital that was meant for the poor and pubic.
Then the cadres killed someone to cover it up.

Is this the ANC you support at any cost @TheChamp ?

I think the author pretty much 'inadvertently' insinuated that - also anyone that implies that the "colonial powers are pleased" with this notion that black people are inferior/incapable etc is an absolute apologist. Take responsibility and stop implying the colonial/racial BS. We couldn't give a flying F*** what your color is, we care about your ability to lead, govern and do your damn job!
"Today the economy is a bowl of dust. We are now one of the world’s leaders in unemployment and its cousin, inequality. Despite trillions of investments over the years, much of which was wasted or stolen, national infrastructure is crumbling while critical institutions of state are on their knees due to the election and appointment of incompetent and inexperienced people to run them.
...
The question is also important in the context of the narrative of the African continent that has pleased many a colonial mind – that when we, black people, govern, we fail to build new institutions, sustainably transform existing ones and to strengthen them. It also says we steal, steal and steal again, with little or no care for millions of fellow Africans who continue to suffer.

Overturning this narrative and replacing it with a new, positive narrative of black role modelling is fundamental to how I think about politics and governing. This is why I will never be swayed by the call to black solidarity even when people are doing wrong things. We are supposed to have ethical standards, and these cannot be sold for a dime on the altar of racial solidarity.

That said, I don’t think we can honestly have the conversation about the failure of leadership without asking whether, after 31 years of democracy, what can be loosely called “black leadership” has failed. Even though our aspiration is to be a genuinely nonracial society, it is also true that in the public consciousness we have had a “black government” since 1994."

And that's only at one hospital, now do the rest and add all the SOE's to the mix.

That's not true.

Black people are well capable of running cities and governments, but the ANC are not.

A liberation movement has yet to function well as a democratic run government, those are the stats throughout history.

Get people like Zondo, Moeletsi Mbeki and people like them in power and they will take the reigns and run.

But it seems only a very few select struggle pals are allowed in any important positions of power in the ANC and so it continues to fail and fail. Add to that that the ANC people in local government learn from their leaders and so corruption and incompetence is rife (and not punished) and it is not any surprise that SA is in the state it is in.
