Road name signs are mostly MIA in Joburg so it's not surprising, but it's the crossing on Booysens where the old round bank building (think it used to Standard Bank) is... across from the plastic shop

If he turned down security in favour of his own men, then I pivot towards security lapse. He may have not realised danger lurking around him.

And people wonder why we have less load shedding. This year less power was consume even comparing to covid years. The real reason why we are not having load shedding. These are not the 1st smelters to close down. Massive losses in labor and production.
This is exactly the type of industry you do not want to have to import

Arrangements done by the courts if it involves court cases. I don't know how they do it in the case of judicial commisions of inquiry. No idea if you receive police escort but I'm guessing you don't. Instead, you get moved to moved to a safe house, something he may have thought about before turning down the offer.

I would be very wary of trusting that process when you are a witness against state security forces.

The court or commission would hand down a ruling for witness protection - this would be out of a request by the prosecuting / investigative authority.

going into witness protection would be like hell on earth - you cannot even nip out of some milk and a loaf of bread.
even more so if you have school going children - they have to be moved to a different school.

ppl in that situation tend to prefer "close protection" - the witness and family still have some degree of freedom - but it comes at higher risk.
