SA Politics Thread Part 12

Aside from polls and generally anecdotal but I travelled around a bit recently in car and listened to SAFM which carries lots of input, live calls, messages etc. Judging by names and accents most are what is classified as "black" South Africans and most have plenty of criticism for the ANC and its leaders, very different from say three years ago when there was no shortage of praise singers.

After seeing Cyril , a educated man , at the helm of SA... I have ZERO hope for anyone coming out of ANC. Zilch.

They are corrupt, none will rock the boat.. SA will just continue the decline.

If SA people want a better future.. they need to start voting for any other party. But we know they won't. Champ is prime example..
The majority will only vote for a black led party....why ?.... because in their minds who else will have their best interests at heart ?

Fortunately (or Unfortunately😁), there's no other black led party, other than the ANC that's organised or capable enough of campaigning strategically and at the required scale to significantly sway opinion.

The only alternative is to weaken the ANC by dividing their "loyalists" amongst a host of smaller parties with only regional/tribal appeal etc, while simultaneously growing the overall DA voter base.....this is already happening to some extent...long may it continue.

People need to be saved from themselves!!!

Champy, you have no idea what you are talking about if you think it's collapsing in the Western Cape - we just had a provincial election last year and DA easily fended off any challenges (also this ward has always been ANC). You say it's too afraid to compete in Gauteng yet it nominated it's most influential leader to be its JHB mayoral candidate.
So by elections don't mean much?

Yes

Ok

Ever seen the huge PR campaigns run by the large environmental polluters?

I don't give a flying fork about large environmental polluters. They can pollute away

We're talking political parties doing their jobs and then making like it's something special. I don't need no kak PR to determine if my muni is doing their job. Neither does anybody else. Unless you are oblivious to the obvious

Its like government departments advertising their services when you have no other options to do that thing anyway...

But of course the adverts MUST have a bigger than life picture of the twat mafia GLM knobjockey included because "ego"

Even worse when the Mayor dresses in a two piece and picks up a garbage bag or two and then has pics plastered all over to show how hard he works
The reality is he posed for those pics for all of ten seconds and then went back to his posh office and his designer suit

Only idiots would think that's some brilliant PR. Then again I'm not surprised at who is defending it

Least we know that Hill-Lewis or Steenhuisen don't wear designer suits... Ain't no way a designer would let a suit hang that poorly on their frames.

They're not the government. There isn't a reason for a government to run a PR campaign using taxpayers' money to tell voters how well it is doing. The voters know. They can touch, feel and see how the government is doing and respond at the polls.

Back to some serious business, not the wanking news from the @TheChamp.

According to the article looks like the race for our next president is between dumb (Mr Fear Fokol) and Cyril's BIL, Patrice.

Also the ANC stands strong at 37~41% vs the DA at only 17~21%.

Surprisingly the EFF is at 11~12% beating MK 9~10%.

I feel as if Patrice would be a kind of repeat of Cyril.

Before Cyril took office, a lot of people thought: "He is a billionaire, he is not in it for the money, nor for tenders or contracts, etc., and he will therefore focus on the job at hand instead of enriching himself."

While I do not think Cyril himself is directly involved in corruption and looting, he did not deliver in the way we hoped someone not hungry for money would.

Will it be the same for Patrice?
