I feel as if Patrice would be a kind of repeat of Cyril.

Before Cyril took office, a lot of people thought: "He is a billionaire, he is not in it for the money, nor for tenders or contracts, etc., and he will therefore focus on the job at hand instead of enriching himself."

While I do not think Cyril himself is directly involved in corruption and looting, he did not deliver in the way we hoped someone not hungry for money would.

Will it be the same for Patrice?

Patrice may be more of a real businessman, but he will be much the same vein as Cyril if in power really.

I do think Cyril is just as involved in the corruption, but possibly more removed as the uber-Don (Phala Phala is a weird case that has dodgy written the fsck all over it from a legality point of view for Squirrel).

Patrice is also not going to be squeaky clean but the dirty will be less political and more power based.

You are imagining things, there wouldn't be a road there if they only started to do their job after 30 years.

Romans built roads 2000 years ago that are still used today, with very little maintenance required. Water supply systems too for that matter.

Telling the ratepayers about how their money is spent is also their job, so sit back, relax and allow Dada to cook.

That’s what annual reports, audits and oversight committees are for.

They're painting faded road markings, not building a road. It takes many years for road markings to fade. Why weren't they repainted when they started fading several years ago? Then they could look good all the time. It's called maintenance.

Remember there is no Xhosa/Zulu/Twsana/Venda/pedi etc word for maintenance. It’s not a particularly widely accepted concept in African culture.

They're not the government. There isn't a reason for a government to run a PR campaign using taxpayers' money to tell voters how well it is doing. The voters know. They can touch, feel and see how the government is doing and respond at the polls.
