I read somewhere CoJ has no registered schools in it's area, CoT something like 40, opening the doors to unscrupulous operators in CoJ. I think deaths is only part of the story too, access to emergency health care prevents deaths.I don't imply deaths don't happen.
Limpopo and EC are provinces where this practice is customary. In MP, it's largely the western parts that are closest to Limpopo. I don't know about NW. So, obviously deaths do happen but not at the same rate as EC.
Afaik, one has to have health and safety plan before they're granted a licence. Licences are single use only. I'm also not going to say ban it, not my call - but I will say it needs to be better regulated ito preventing abusers and medical emergencies.
