Limpopo and EC are provinces where this practice is customary. In MP, it's largely the western parts that are closest to Limpopo. I don't know about NW. So, obviously deaths do happen but not at the same rate as EC.

I read somewhere CoJ has no registered schools in it's area, CoT something like 40, opening the doors to unscrupulous operators in CoJ. I think deaths is only part of the story too, access to emergency health care prevents deaths.

I'm also not going to say ban it, not my call - but I will say it needs to be better regulated ito preventing abusers and medical emergencies.

Afaik, one has to have health and safety plan before they're granted a licence. Licences are single use only. However, as with everything, I believe there's corruption somewhere along the process.

Let's look forward to more ANC, EFF and MK by-election losses (although I admit the first by-elections in mid January look somewhat bad for the DA given the PA is quite strong in George) but more importantly for sensible SA political parties to make large gains in the 2026 municipal elections.

Yes, I am very certain comparing an environment where you are free to steer the country in your preferred direction by being able to vote is comparable to apartheid where some people were forced to live with whatever a tiny minority of the population decides on.

You've just described the ANC. Look harder.

Who decided a sanctioned Russian warship enter our ports? Who decided to sell off large chunks of the country to foreign corrupt Gupta cronies? Who decided to climb into bed with the Fascist, global pariah Iran? A tiny minority of the population did.

Are we free to steer the country in our preferred direction? The country's gdp is in negative growth and the economy shrinking. I didn't do that. The 100 cronies who made 1.5 Trillion rand disappear, did that. Same cronies that kept Jacob Zuma in power by voting in favor for him twice.

All we did in 1994 was swop one repulsive regime for another.
