So lets run some numbers with 7 subjects
88% got a pass , where a pass means that if you average subjects they knew 30% of the work (40+40+40+30+30+30)/7. so 12% are sub 30%ers
46% got a bachelor pass, so they knew of 42.8% the work (40+50+50+50+50+30+30)/7
It means that there was a dropoff of 42% of people who could get 30% but not 42.8%
I wonder what the dropoff would be when you take the differences of average required for university compared to 42.8%
The problem is that because of the low bar of entry we would have a large amount toytoying for nsfas and other tax funded money to study further where they would have to up their average pass mark considerably just to pass
Then you have the other barriers like core maths or science, which most of the kids did not take
What would the pass %'s be like if core maths and science was mandatory for everyone ?
