You are confusing reality with the fantasy world where there is more to gain from being friends with states like Russia and Iran.

But of course if you are a corrupt idiot that somehow found yourself in government, then I imagine you have a lot to gain from being friends with those types of countries which explains it I guess.

What happens when America become close with Iran? we are going to end up looking like the DA bufoons when America changed it's tune on Ukraine and Russia.

America is close to Saudi Arabia and other lowly criminals. Trump himself is a criminal of the lowest order.

It looks like George lost the battle of ideas in the DA. He seems to forget that he served as a cabinet member at the pleasure of the DA leader. It appeared that he went against DA dictum on certain issues (canned lion hunting?) and was removed. I struggle to buy his story that the country's environment is in some grave danger and he was the dam wall against impending doom.

Seems like he was against the DA being in the GNU, and wanted a more hardline approach to the ANC's kowtowing to foreign adversaries against the national interest. As a junior partner, he should know that the DA has limited leverage and cannot fight every battle and win. The key is to pick your battles, fight the long-game and ultimately win at the ballot box. Every indicator is pointing to the DA having massive political gains at the expense of the ANC by making the GNU work.

Is there some massive illicit and corrupt network in the Environment ministry that is paying Steenhuisen and/or the DA to keep hush-hush that George uncovered? I mean it's possible but seems unlikely. Feels more like an ideologue having little regard for pragmatism and the reality of politics but I could be proven wrong.

USA is not going to get close to Iran unless the current regime topples. Remember that Iran's regime is anti Israel. Before the USA gets closer that must change.

Current regime wants oil. If Iran offers oil exploration to cronies of the regime, all is forgiven. Equatorial Guinea is governed by a despot. No one ever mentions them. Ever wondered why?

Saudi Arabia does not recognise Israel as a state, yet they're big buddies with the regime.

Saudi Arabia has changed their actions regarding Israel considerably. A lot of talk, not much action.

They still don't consider them a sovereign state therefore, little diplomatic or formal trade agreements. Saudi Arabia issued strong words against Israel with regards to Gaza, calling tge current actions genocide.

Just like they subjected him to the credit card disciplinary, they will also subject him to whatever they have planned to subject him to alongside George, likelihood is that the outcome will be the same as that of the credit card.

They don't recognise Israel as a state. There's no diplomatic ostracism worse than that. Countries such as Spain and Turkey have joined ZA in the ICJ case against Israel yet the regime hardly utters a word and has maintained normal diplomatic relations with those nations.
