The whole point is to grow your support in exactly those areas you are struggling in, especially when you have Zille making the groot trek to view for Mayorship in the metro and the area you have no significant support in makes up the biggest voting block in the metro.

It's really not that complicated.

Like I am not even asking the DA to win, even if they get less than 11% it's still fine, just show up and Zille can prove she has some commitment to her ill fated campaign, is that too much to ask for?

One has to wonder how Champy will react if the DA beat his mafia glm on the 15th of Oct.

I'm not sure his fragile mental state would be able to handle that outcome.
 
An interesting take on how the DA might win Joburg (I think it highly unlikely), the DA need to make peace with ASA if they want to stand a chance. Relying on ANC voters not turning up is chancy.

Because we only have eyes for the DA, Orania must probably be the Freedom Front's stronghold, we have those right wingers figured out, it is the DA that is using the Experiments against their own people, the DA is enemy number 1 of the Great Liberation Movement.

Yes, the stars would have to align greatly.
The ANC's continuing poor performance is a big factor. The city is totally mismanaged and ravished by comrades going in dry. Repeatedly. But yeah the alternatives aren't doing too well. Only votes up for grabs are fanatics.
