I imagine the reason they weren't central was that it makes their response faster as they're local. That however didn't work because the anc destroyed all the fire services. There are all those fire station that employ people but have no fire fighting equipment just employment agencies. You now get private fire fighting services thanks to anc destruction.

It's somewhat positive that they're restoring some of what they destroyed

Yeah, nothing is being centralized, it's just harmless fun because Mr Facts Unlimited thought the Central in the name meant fire fighting services are being centralized.

How many working fire trucks are there in Johannesburg?

The official number of fire engines available to the city at the moment is 11, according to the spokesperson for Johannesburg EMS, Robert Mulaudzi. This figure is, however, disputed by private firefighting entities who say the number is much lower.

Mulaudzi says the fire department is forced to strategically place the fire engines according to the particular risk factors of different areas to ‘effectively respond to emergencies throughout the city’.

The City of Johannesburg fleet has been limping for years, and there are not enough fire trucks to service the 6 million residents. The city only has around 10 working firefighting vehicles.

I thought you were not a firefighting expert? Shouldn't fire stations be decentralised so that they are closer to possible incidents?

An example of the brilliant planning in Ekhuruleni by the ANC. Lets see if they open again
Last year the pool was open for 2 weeks and closed for the rest for the same reason

We can't applaud them for creating a problem and then celebrating when they fix said problem. We should hold them accountable for creating the problem in the first place. Fixing the problem should also be a non-negotiable!

Yeah, apparently hundreds of projects were just started now, just in time for elections, no budget process for capital projects, Dada just woke up and personally drove workers he picked on the side of the road to the sites and told them to get to work.

Yeah, I know, it would go down well if it was in Joburg, unfortunately for you it happened in the bastion of superior service delivery.
