Yeah all those Palestine banners seem to be allowed so if they follow process I'm sure they can pass legality. It is their right to free speech even if as unsavory as kill the Boer signing but their right.

Yes, the unfortunate part of living in a democracy. The right uses liberal democratic institutions to gain power and then break those institutions when they gain power.

Most signage in JHB is illegal, in the sense that it doesn't comply with by-laws. Like most things in JHB, nothing is done (probably because an official was bribed, owns some stake in a media company, is stupid and incompetent or most likely all of the above). But if the city wants to act, they could remove 80-90% of all signage.

It's kind of obvious isn't it... It highlights the idiocy of BEE and the growing backlash to it. It also shows how the city is extremely fast to act on non-core side issues that have zero service delivery impact, but sits around on their fat asses doing nothing for 99% of the failing infrastructure around the city.
